LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 27, 2002
Andy Hayler, CEO of Kalido Group, has been selected for the prestigious "Top 10 Innovators" list by the editors of Red Herring, the premier magazine of business technology and innovation. A 14-year veteran of data modeling, warehousing and integration projects, Hayler founded the Kalido Group of Companies and brought to market its core technology, the KALIDO(TM) Dynamic Information Warehouse.
"Innovators have always been heroes to Red Herring," said Blaise Zerega, editor of Red Herring magazine. "Unlike other publications that produce similar lists, Red Herring chooses top-notch engineers, software developers, and scientists who have distinguished themselves with a combination of scientific creativity and business acumen. In fact, this year's list averages seven patents and three startups per individual. All told, the people on the list have produced US $17 billion in wealth and nearly 9,000 jobs."
Since 1997, Red Herring's annual "Top Innovators" feature has celebrated the men and women who best represent the innovative spirit with their ability to overturn existing markets and sometimes create entirely new ones, according to the publication; "The honorees are not only innovators: they are also entrepreneurs with viable business plans to support their breakthrough technologies."
"I am honored to be recognized for our achievements and to join such a prestigious group of individuals," said Andy Hayler, chief executive officer, Kalido Group. "This award underscores the originality and business importance of Kalido Group's technology, once more demonstrating that innovation is alive and that real value will always be in demand. The award is also a testament to the tremendous team that has taken KALIDO Dynamic Information Warehouse from an idea to a leading software product used in 94 countries."
While working for the Royal Dutch / Shell Group of Companies (Shell), Hayler led the creation of a revolutionary software integration platform - the KALIDO Warehouse - to manage disparate, complex concurrent data structures that change over time. Following its proven success within Shell, in February of 2001 Hayler brought the software's unmatched approach to information integration to the world stage by establishing the Kalido Group of Companies.
The Kalido Group specializes in providing intelligent information integration software to the Global 2000 companies, with customers including Shell, Unilever, Philips and Cadbury Schweppes. Used in over 90 countries, the KALIDO Warehouse enables large organizations to rapidly manage complex business change such as mergers, acquisitions, reorganization and globalizations. IDC acknowledged Kalido Group as the fastest growing business in the global business intelligence software market in 2001 (based on 2001 and 2000 worldwide software license and maintenance revenue for vendors with at least US$1 million).(a)
