LONDON & REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 5, 2002

SeeBeyond to Facilitate Integration of All Internal Applications To

Streamline Payments and Securities Processing

SeeBeyond (Nasdaq:SBYN), the leading global provider of eBusiness and Application Integration (eAI) solutions, today announced that Swiss-based Zurcher Kantonalbank (ZKB) has selected the SeeBeyond(TM) Business Integration Suite to facilitate data transfer between the bank's internal and external systems and to streamline the processing of SWIFT transactions.

Founded in 1870, ZKB is Switzerland's largest cantonal bank and the third largest Swiss bank with total assets of 51.1 billion U.S. dollars.

ZKB's deployment of the SeeBeyond Business Integration Suite will replace existing point-to-point integration solutions, enabling ZKB to streamline the integration of disparate payment systems, in addition to improving data transfer to external partners using EDIFACT and the SWIFT network. This deployment is the beginning of a phased implementation process covering standard intra-enterprise data transformation processes (EDIFACT, SWIFT or XML data transformation) that will be processed through the SeeBeyond solution.

ZKB looked at a number of competing products on the market before selecting the SeeBeyond Business Integration suite. SeeBeyond was chosen for its scalability, particularly on the mainframe OS390 platform and its Straight Through Processing (STP) oriented business process management capabilities. A key criterion was the ability to process SWIFT ISO15022 securities messages that enable continuous settlement processing and handle increasing volumes of transactions in a secure environment.

"Implementing the SeeBeyond platform will allow us to streamline our payment and securities processing systems and integrate internal and external applications and networks such as SWIFT," said Mr. Stefan Lenz, project portfolio manager of Business Technology for ZKB. "To achieve this we were looking for a real-time integration infrastructure that would give us high performance levels and also be scalable enough to handle future growth. SeeBeyond gives us that capability with a solution that will equip us for the future and enable us to respond to changes in the market as they occur, something that we just didn't have the flexibility to achieve previously."

"SeeBeyond is recognized as a leader in Straight Through Processing and back-office integration, as our specific SWIFT ISO15022 integration tools help financial services organizations, such as ZKB, address this pressing migration issue," said David Bennett, vice president and general manager of EMEA for SeeBeyond. "Our ability to manage high volumes of data integration in real time and to dramatically lower cost and time to deployment is reflected in ZKB's integration strategy and its selection of SeeBeyond."

Major financial institutions that have also selected SeeBeyond include ABN Amro, AXA Group Insurance, Banca IMI, BNP Paribas, BNP Luxembourg, Clearstream, Commerzbank, Hypovereinsbank, KBC Securities, Nicholas Applegate, Northern Trust, UBS and WestLB.
