CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 2002

Global Agreement Provides Customers with Ability to Quickly and

Cost-Effectively Web-Enable Legacy Applications

NetManage, Inc. (Nasdaq:NETME), experts in host access and integration solutions, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), one of the world's largest and fastest growing software and IT services firms, today announced a global partnership in which the two companies will fulfill the growing demand for NetManage's OnWeb(R). OnWeb is a server-based software solution that allows companies to quickly Web-enable host applications, without the high cost of rewriting or changing back-end systems. With strong business synergies including a customer-centric focus, the two companies are poised to meet the business needs of large and small organizations looking to extract new value from existing legacy applications.

With more than 19,000 skilled software professionals across 55 countries, TCS provides NetManage with an additional specialized worldwide resource that includes systems integration, IT management and consulting services. TCS offers a holistic range of software services -- including software development and maintenance, Internet security, mobile computing and data warehousing. This ensures OnWeb customer implementations will compliment the existing IT infrastructure.

"Over the past few months, NetManage has quickly grown its partner base to meet a wide variety of customer demands. We're pleased to add a world-class IT consulting and services partner like TCS that offers extensive software services on a global scale," said Linda Gladden, vice president of Indirect Sales and Business Development at NetManage. "TCS' proven processes and methodologies will allow our customers to get up and running quickly with OnWeb, while ensuring they have a solid strategy in place for future technology deployments."

"In all of the markets we serve, we consistently see a strong demand to Web-enable legacy systems, applications and business processes. From small enterprises to established players in the Fortune 1000, our clients need to overcome technology hurdles that limit their ability to extend critical business information over the Web," said Arup Gupta, president of TCS America, the North American arm of TCS. "NetManage is a strong market contender that is addressing this business problem. We were also attracted to the OnWeb product because it can be tailored to handle varying levels of IT complexity, and deployed quickly and cost-effectively."

While both NetManage and TCS serve several vertical industries, the partnership will initially focus on fulfilling demand in the insurance, healthcare and banking industries. With data often locked in mainframe or midrange systems, these organizations are well suited for the OnWeb solutions as they move toward managing accounts, providing price quotes, managing policies and processing claims over the Web. Mission-critical information can now be delivered over the Web to businesses and consumers.

"NetManage has deep roots serving global market leaders in the Fortune 1000," said Zvi Alon, president, CEO and chairman of NetManage. "This relationship holds great promise for our business because it has the ability to broaden deployment of the OnWeb solution as we secure new joint domestic and international customers."
