DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 2002

Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(TM)), (Nasdaq: ZIXI), a global provider of secure e-messaging services, today announced it will conduct a Web seminar Dec. 18 featuring Joyce Graff, vice president and research director for Gartner, Inc., who will discuss the importance of secure email and how companies can ensure consistency in their corporate email security policies.

The Webinar is the second in a four-part monthly series "Countdown to HIPAA Email Compliance -- Understanding the Issues, Simplifying Deployment" presented by ZixCorp. Last month's topic was HIPAA and its implications for Internet risk management presented by John Christiansen of Preston, Gates & Ellis LLP. Upcoming topics include reasons for outsourcing email security and highlights of send-to-anyone e-messaging. The series is designed to show how compliance with HIPAA email security guidelines benefits an entire organization, from discovering email vulnerabilities and deployment of the appropriate solution, to ongoing monitoring of company security strategies. Replays of all programs in the series are available from the ZixCorp Web site, www.zixcorp.com/series.> Graff will present "Secure Messaging as a Strategic Decision -- What are the Issues?" Highlights of the seminar include a discussion of which secure e-messaging methods allow for quick and easy set up, considerations for use of an external provider, and how companies can ensure their security policies are consistently implemented.

With more business transactions conducted via the Internet, there is increasing need for greater security in email and document transfers. Content needs to be protected from prying eyes to preserve client confidentiality, ensure message integrity and prevent misuse of personal information.

"This presentation will highlight the importance of e-messaging security and help healthcare providers understand some of the critical distinctions between choosing a product and choosing a service for this protection," said Daniel S. Nutkis, vice president strategy and products for ZixCorp.

"ZixCorp's integrated, scalable secure e-messaging services are easy to use and easy to deploy," he continued. "Our ZixSecure Center(TM) automatically stores and distributes public encryption keys so that users don't have to manually exchange keys or re-register every time they email a new recipient. It happens automatically as part of our service. Our Best Method of Delivery(TM) ensures that a secure email can be sent to anyone according to the email environment of the recipient, whether they subscribe to our services or not. With a ZixCorp solution, users avoid disrupting their normal email routines. A solution that's too difficult for users to apply easily or that doesn't allow them to communicate with all their business partners is as good as no solution at all. ZixCorp provides an elegant solution for those problems."

The Webinar will be broadcast Dec. 18, 2002, at 3:00 pm ET (2:00 CT) at www. zixcorp.com/series. Registration is required and may be obtained at the Web site.
