WESTBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 2002
Applix, Inc., (NASDAQ: APLX), a global provider of enterprise-wide Business Performance Management solutions, today announced the availability of Applix Integra 1.2, the industry's first platform that integrates planning, performance management and operational data, enabling companies to optimize business performance and customer interaction. These new enhancements in Applix Integra 1.2 help companies improve strategic planning and what-if analysis and increase productivity.
Applix Integra 1.2 includes a new capability that allows users to make changes at any level of the corporate structure and then intelligently spread those changes with a few keystrokes to multiple dimensions such as accounts, time, and departments. For example, in a matter of seconds corporate planners can easily cascade top-down targets throughout the company using familiar environments such as the web or Excel. A valuable, timesaving feature, this capability is now available in both Applix Integra 1.2 and Applix iTM1, the industry's leading business intelligence analytical engine and the core technology within Applix Integra.
Other enhancements include improved response times, event-driven workflow commands, an enhanced Web user interface to enable spreadsheet-like navigation and data entry, and support for the Oracle 9i Database.
Carlisle & Company, a leading motor vehicle consultancy specializing in operations, supply chain, sales, marketing, pricing and incentives, is using Applix Integra to improve interaction with its customers by streamlining data collection and reporting processes. According to Brian Crounse, senior associate at the firm, "Integra 1.2 offers an improved interface for viewing, editing, and navigating multidimensional data. The new features, such as the enhanced cut and paste, offer a user experience that is comparable to standard spreadsheets. This allows our clients to enter and review their benchmark data in a timely and efficient manner."
Applix Integra provides companies with much-needed visibility into their business performance by analyzing their financial, operational, customer and human resource information in dashboards, helping them quickly reach their business targets. Managers can view analytical and operational data, identify milestones and dates, monitor progress towards target goals and highlight and escalate variances to team members through alerts, raising accountability across the enterprise. Applix Integra also provides consistency in decision-making with a uniform set of data and business rules, eliminating errors that arise from multiple data sources.
"Applix Integra, the next generation of Applix iTM1, is leading the way with solutions and an environment for achieving true insight into business performance and managing critical business operations," said Alan Goldsworthy, Applix President and CEO. "As with the successful early adopter program for Applix Integra, we continue to work closely with our customers to ensure that the technical capabilities they need are developed and incorporated into all of our products."
Applix Integra 1.2 is available December 23, 2002. Current Applix customers can obtain special upgrade pricing through the end of December by contacting their sales representatives.
