MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2002
Whitman Education Group, Inc. (AMEX: WIX) today announced that its Colorado Technical University (CTU) has received approval from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools to offer online a master's degree in management.
"CTU has been offering online courses at the master's level for over two years. To date, the focus of our online effort has been on refining quality, improving student service and demonstrating solid learning outcomes," commented Richard C. Pfenniger, Jr., Whitman's Chief Executive Officer. "As a result, until now we have intentionally limited enrollment in our online courses to a select number of students at CTU campuses and have not marketed our online offerings externally. Having now obtained approval to offer a full online master's degree in management, we will begin marketing the online program externally to scale up this effort."
Colorado Technical University, founded in 1965, comprises Whitman's University Degree Division. CTU offers bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees, primarily in the areas of information science and business, for the benefit of adult learners generally seeking to advance their existing careers. CTU has approximately 3,000 students attending three campuses, located in Colorado Springs, CO, Denver, CO, and Sioux Falls, SD, or through Colorado Tech Online.
