Harold McGraw III, chairman, president and CEO of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP), will discuss prospects for the Corporation at two investor conferences on the media industry next week in New York City. The presentation, entitled "Outlook 2003," may include forward-looking information.

On Monday, December 9, 2002, Mr. McGraw will address the Credit Suisse First Boston Media Week Conference at The Plaza Hotel. Mr. McGraw is scheduled to speak from 3:30 p.m. to 4:25 p.m. (EST).

On Tuesday, December 10, 2002, Mr. McGraw will address the UBS Warburg 30th Annual Media Week Conference at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. He is scheduled to speak from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (EST).
