Leverages EMC WideSky APIs to Tightly Integrate its DynamicIT Offering with EMC Networked Storage Systems and Streamline Data Center Deployment
ProvisionSoft, Inc., the provider of DynamicIT(TM), a new generation of proactive storage and server provisioning software, today announced its participation in the EMC Developers Program(TM). ProvisionSoft is working with EMC to bring the flexible, intelligent, predictive and automated provisioning capabilities of DynamicIT to storage network infrastructures based on EMC's market-leading storage technology. As a member of the EMC Developers Program, ProvisionSoft gains access to EMC's WideSky(TM) multi-vendor storage management middleware as well as interfaces for Symmetrix(R) information storage systems and software. This integration is designed to ensure that DynamicIT is easily deployable in enterprise data centers where EMC has a major presence.
"Our relationship with EMC supports our goal of providing enterprises with a holistic solution for provisioning storage and server resources in a heterogeneous environment," stated Mark Reid, president of ProvisionSoft. "By integrating our DynamicIT software with EMC's solutions, we will provide our common customer base with a tool that not only saves them time and money, but one that integrates with their existing software and hardware infrastructure."
"The ability to take steps to manage storage and server resources can dramatically improve network system efficiency," said Paul Brown, EMC senior director of Global Alliances. "When ProvisionSoft's DynamicIT software is integrated with EMC's solutions, ProvisionSoft will help our mutual customers streamline this critical piece of their infrastructure and stay focused on their core businesses."
DynamicIT allocates and efficiently utilizes storage and server resources in a data center by recognizing utilization levels and then proactively allocating the right resources at the right time. By predictively, intelligently, and automatically managing resources, DynamicIT eliminates labor-intensive tasks typically associated with these functions and therefore significantly reduces downtime events caused by human error.
About the EMC Developers Program
With more than 150 members, including most of the world's largest software companies, the EMC Developers Program is the storage industry's largest open software initiative. The program gives members access to a broad portfolio of development tools, interfaces and supporting resources for EMC's WideSky(TM) middleware, EMC's platform application programming interfaces (APIs) and other EMC programming interfaces. WideSky, introduced in October 2001, expands the capabilities of these interfaces to include a wide variety of heterogeneous storage, storage resource and network systems. These new capabilities provide software developers with a consistent mechanism for accessing or managing various elements of a networked storage environment.
