Robert K. Jaedicke Resigns From California Water Service Group Board of Directors

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 1, 2002

California Water Service Group (NYSE:CWT) announced today that Robert K. Jaedicke, 72, has resigned from its Board of Directors, effective January 30, 2002, after serving with distinction since 1974.

"I have enjoyed my relationship with California Water Service Group, and I will miss my colleagues," Jaedicke said.

"We appreciate the expertise Dr. Jaedicke has brought to our Board. He has been a valuable Director, and we will miss him," said Robert W. Foy, Chairman of the Board.

Jaedicke is Professor Emeritus of Accounting and former dean of the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He has authored numerous books and articles on business and accounting.

California Water Service Group is the parent company of California Water Service Company, Washington Water Service Company, New Mexico Water Service Company, and CWS Utility Services. Together these companies provide regulated and non-regulated water service to over 2 million people in 96 California, Washington, and New Mexico communities.
