Sybari Continues to Gain Momentum in the Healthcare Industry by
Providing Industry Leading Protection
Sybari Software, Inc., the premier developers of Antigen, a comprehensive antivirus, content-management, and e-mail security solution for Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino environments, today announced that Virtual Care Provider has selected Antigen to provide antivirus and security protection for its network.
Virtual Care Provider, a Business Solutions Provider (BSP) offering an array of information technology (IT) and telecommunication solutions to organizations in the Long-Term Healthcare profession, joins a growing number of institutions that depend on Antigen to keep their networks free from the threat of viruses, worms, and other forms of malicious code.
According to the 2001 Global Information Security Report published by InformationWeek in September 2001, two-thirds of companies worldwide report having been hit by virus, worm, or Trojan horse assaults in the past year. In addition, the report indicated nearly 70% of companies in the health care market experienced first hand how crippling a virus can be in terms of lost time, data, and productivity. With new e-mail born viruses and worms spreading rapidly, the need for a robust, proactive antivirus solution is an absolute necessity if companies want to protect the electronic assets and intellectual property that are essential in today's digital economy.
"As an Application Service Provider (ASP) in the long term care industry, we cannot afford to let our network fall prey to the damage that can be caused by the constant deluge of viruses that appear regularly in cyberspace," said Scott Margis, a Systems Engineer at Virtual Care Provider. "Antigen's multiple scan engines provide us with the full scope of industry knowledge on known viruses, while its Worm Purge feature insures that new viruses do not penetrate the network. This allows us to operate with full confidence that all data and electronic communications will remain intact and free from harm."
Sybari continues to gain momentum in the healthcare industry by delivering comprehensive anti-virus, content-management, and e-mail security solutions that offer a multi-option defense strategy. The company recently added new functionality to Antigen designed to eliminate suspect e-mail and Spam based on all or part of its subject line, as well as by sender and domain name. This new feature further strengthens Antigen's robust content management capabilities, which currently include Antigen File Filtering(TM) (AFF) and Antigen Worm Purge(TM). AFF enables administrators to proactively filter e-mail based on several filters including subject line, attachment filename, wildcards, and file type. Antigen Worm Purge is a proactive safeguard tool against worms burrowing into e-mail networks, enabling network administrators to prevent the overload of virus-generated messages churned out when worm viruses are unleashed in an environment. Worm Purge deletes messages containing worm viruses in their entirety and prevents new worm threats from spreading before scan engines can be updated.
"As a pioneer in the industry, it has always been our goal to provide the most robust anti-virus protection for Microsoft Exchange environments," said Tom Buoniello, vice president of product management for Sybari Software. "Virtual Care Provider's selection of Antigen validates our ability to deliver highly specialized solutions for Exchange messaging platforms and further strengthens our leadership position in the security market."
