SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 2002
Users Can Directly Access This Premier Hosting Solution Provider Via the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET One Click Feature to Test XML Web
Services and Enterprise-level Applications
Unisys Corporation (NYSE:UIS) announced today it is a premier Web hosting solution provider for developers using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET who build and test XML Web services.
Unisys provides a dedicated Web development environment on the Unisys ES7000 e-@ction Enterprise Server along with pre- and post-engineering support, scalability testing and workload profile analysis services for users of the solution.
"This service enables our company to extend our solution development environment to support enterprise-level application architectures with both the services and expertise that we require," said Kathy Hobbs, CEO, Media Logic. "I wish something like this had been available sooner. It is difficult to accurately gauge performance issues under load without having the actual equipment. Normally this testing would have to be outsourced, an expensive proposition."
With the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET one click feature, developers directly upload XML Web services to a live environment where they can be modified and tested directly on a Web services platform within the Internet on a 24x7 basis. Users are given a private directory on the Unisys ES7000-based platform on which to upload and test their XML Web services.
This hardware platform, with up to 32 processors, provides the scalability and reliability required of enterprise-level application developers -- offering a unique value proposition that differentiates Unisys from other hosting communities.
This Unisys solution includes a personal ID directory, along with a variety of hosting packages available to meet the specific needs of each individual client.
"This solution is an important step in fostering the XML Web services developer community," said David Lazar, group product manager for the Developer and Platform Evangelism Division at Microsoft Corp. "Microsoft is pleased that Unisys is supporting their services on very high-end, highly scalable platform -- enabling the support of enterprise-level and mission critical applications."
