STONEHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 19, 2002
Percussion(R) Software, the only content management vendor committed to providing the lowest total cost of ownership for Web content management, announced today that eWEEK, the number one enterprise newsweekly (www.eweek.com), has named Percussion's Rhythmyx(TM) Content Manager V4.0 as a finalist for the publication's second annual eXcellence Awards, which recognize the best and most innovative enterprise technology product releases in 2001. Percussion's Rhythmyx 4.0 was the only content management solution to be selected as a finalist for this award. Winners will be announced at a special ceremony on March 5, 2002, at the Westin Copley Place Hotel in Boston, Mass. Winners will also be published in the March 4, 2002 edition of eWEEK.
"eWEEK provides strategic analysis on the technologies, platforms and trends that affect enterprise-wide computing," said Eric Lundquist, editor-in-chief. "The eXcellence Awards recognize those products that are leading the industry into its next wave of growth, while at the same time benefiting two worthy organizations."
eWEEK is the authoritative information source for enterprise IT professionals, providing news and technology reviews weekly in print and on the Web. The eXcellence Awards are a benchmark for IT professionals, enabling them to assess products that provide a competitive edge. More than 500 entries were received this year, and were evaluated by a panel of experts, including eWEEK Labs analysts and eWEEK Corporate Partners.
"eWEEK's selection of Rhythmyx Content Manager V4.0 as one of only three finalists in the "Infrastructure: e-Business Foundations" category is a testament to the power of our solution and the leadership we are proud to bring to the marketplace," said Barry Reynolds, president and CEO of Percussion Software. "This award - by one of the most influential organizations in the technology industry - further validates the functionality and ease-of-use of Rhythmyx, and our ability to provide the lowest total cost of ownership for enterprise-scale Web content management solutions."
Products will be awarded in the following categories:
-- Analytics and Reporting -- Application & Web Services Development -- Customer Relationship Management -- Portals and Knowledge Management -- Desktop and Handheld Hardware -- e-Business Foundations -- Enterprise Collaboration and Messaging -- IT Quality Assurance Tools -- Personal Productivity -- Server Hardware -- Storage -- Networking Infrastructure -- Networking and Management Tools -- Authentication and User Management -- Enterprise Resource Protection
After program expenses, eWEEK will donate proceeds from entry fees evenly between two organizations that leverage technology to build community: the Starlight Foundation PC Pal program and the Massachusetts-based Youth Tech Entrepreneurs.
