SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 21, 2002
NetScaler, Inc., the leading provider in developing high performance traffic management products, has joined forces with ANTARA.net, developer of the first scaleable web infrastructure stress-testing solutions, to offer Internet infrastructure managers a comprehensive set of tools needed to build high performance, scalable and secure web infrastructures.
The companies have committed to offer a series of infrastructure products specifically designed to enhance web infrastructure performance, enabling infrastructure managers to achieve a previously unattainable network ROI-more users, faster responses and greater site protection while using fewer resources.
"As web infrastructures become more complex, network managers are faced with increased performance, protection and scalability issues," said Patrick J. Conte, general manager and executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for NetScaler. "Together with ANTARA.net we are providing a robust solution that will allow Internet infrastructure managers to build a more resilient network."
Powered by the company's patent-pending Request Switching(tm) technology, NetScaler's Request Switch(tm) 6000 Series surpasses traditional traffic management products by directing and controlling traffic at the application request level. By analyzing traffic at a more granular level, NetScaler provides superior control of traffic. As a result, using the Request Switch 6000 Series, infrastructure managers can easily manage increasingly complex applications, traffic spikes and site attacks. Until now, legacy traffic managers operated at the less efficient connection level.
ANTARA.net is among the first of NetScaler's alliance partners. NetScaler's alliance program focuses on bringing complimentary web infrastructure products together that address important scalability issues. ANTARA.net's FlameThrower/II allows users to test various components of their infrastructure to predict network performance, compatibility of products and most importantly, to ensure that the infrastructure performs as envisioned.
With this information, IT managers can optimize their network to enhance overall performance. Using ANTARA.net's FlameThrower/II along with NetScaler's Request Switch 6000 Series, infrastructure managers have the tools needed for a high performance, scalable and highly efficient infrastructure.
Testing Network Reliability
"It is critical for businesses to test the reliability of their Internet infrastructure, said Chuck Kolstad, president and CEO of ANTARA.net. "Even the most secure networks are vulnerable to site attacks and traffic surges, and together with NetScaler, we are committed to addressing these issues and arming network managers with the critical information they need to eliminate these problems."
Recently, NetScaler commissioned eTesting Labs to compare the company's RS6500 against F5 Networks' BIG-IP 5000 Switch and Cisco's CSS 11800. In the network scalability test, eTesting Labs utilized ANTARA.net's Flamethrower/II appliance. Each traffic management product was stressed by FlameThrower/II with up to 24,000 web requests per second. In all test cases, FlameThrower/II proved that NetScaler's RS6500 was the only traffic management solution able to handle one million simultaneous active connections.
NetScaler also surpassed the competition in other testing benchmarks, including infrastructure scalability, content switching and load balancing throughput as well as site attack protection. For a copy of the eTesting Labs report please go to http://netscaler.com/product/third_party.html.
