Keynote Presentation, Conference Sessions, and Exhibits Offer Attendees Latest Enterprise Content Management Technologies to Support
Disaster Recovery and Preparation Efforts
Before disaster strikes, whether it is natural or man-made, organizations, big and small, must take a proactive approach to ensure that their critical assets are safely protected and backed up. Unfortunately, most companies grossly underestimate what it takes to be prepared when disaster occurs.
Advanstar Communications, a worldwide business information company serving specialized markets with high quality information resources and integrated marketing solutions, today announced that disaster recovery and preparation technologies will be a main highlight at the AIIM 2002 Conference & Exposition, March 5-8, Moscone Center, San Francisco, California.
AIIM 2002 will offer attendees a variety of vehicles to learn more about the importance of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) technologies and how they support an organization's disaster recovery and prevention efforts.
Offering valuable insight to attendees, the event will include a disaster recovery and preparation keynote panel titled, "The Importance of Enterprise Content Management and Its Impact on September 11th's Disaster Recovery Efforts," multiple conference sessions, and the virtual "Vault," a show floor exhibit demonstrating disaster recovery technology and equipment in action.
Disaster Recovery Keynote
Martyn D. Christian of FileNET Corporation, will lead a keynote panel on Wednesday, March 6 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. This panel consists of technology vendors and end-user organizations directly affected by the World Trade Center (WTC) tragedy.
Panelists will discuss issues faced by the organizations during the disaster recovery efforts and exchange lessons learned to help other organizations prepare for the future.
Panel members include:
-- Suppression Systems, Inc. -- Firelock Data Protection Systems -- Russ Bassett, Inc. -- Vision Fire & Security
Disaster Recovery Virtual "Vault"
Located on the show floor of the exposition (booth #2337), attendees will have the opportunity to experience a hands-on disaster recovery exhibit known as the virtual "Vault."
The Vault offers attendees the ability to view technology and equipment demonstrating the latest working prototype environmental controls; fire suppression systems; early detection alarms; seismic and magnetic shielding; Class 125 Safe Design coupled with specialty shelving systems that provide specially protected slotted storage.
These systems in conjunction with server farms, jukebox, and silo technology provide a compact threat resistant vault environment for information systems of the highest intrinsic and knowledge-based computer assets within the organization.
Vendors featured in the Vault include:
-- Suppression Systems, Inc. -- Firelock Data Protection Systems -- Russ Bassett, Inc. -- Vision Fire & Security
In addition to the hands-on demonstration, a classroom presentation will be available for greater instructional value. Further, there are multiple sessions within the conference focused on technologies required to build and maintain a disaster recovery and preparation program.
"Recent events have emphasized the importance of business continuity following a crisis, and have opened many eyes to the need of a comprehensive disaster recovery plan," said Brian Randall, Group Show Director. "There are many issues that businesses must address to ensure that the company is up and running immediately if disaster, natural or man-made, should strike. ECM technologies play a critical role in disaster recovery and preparation efforts. AIIM 2002 attendees will walk away with `real-world' knowledge necessary for companies to build and recover disaster recovery plans and programs."
