Internet World Spring 2002
DARIEN, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 2002
Penton Media (NYSE: PME, www.penton.com) today announced details of its upcoming ninth annual Internet World Spring 2002, which returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center from April 22 - 26.
The Internet remains central to the success of both online and offline businesses, and this year's Internet World Spring will showcase an abundance of Internet technologies, innovations and strategies designed to help companies achieve a wide range of business imperatives. In addition, the event will highlight numerous new features, show floor areas, and networking opportunities for attendees.
"In these tough economic times, it might seem appropriate for companies to cut their IT spending. However, the opposite is really what's warranted " observed Courtney Muller, VP of Internet World events. "By harnessing the power of Internet technology, companies can reduce overhead, streamline operations, increase productivity and ultimately, become more profitable. And Internet World is a great place for business professionals to find the solutions they need to make this a reality."
In addition to highlighting products from hundreds of companies, the exhibit hall will feature a number of innovative new pavilions and events...
Security Matters, sponsored by Verisign - Between crippling new viruses and the threat of cyber-terrorism, it has never been more crucial for companies to secure their networks and data. The Security Matters showcase on the show floor will provide attendees with the opportunity to evaluate the latest Internet security products and services from industry leaders. Hackers will also be on-hand to test the vulnerability of attendee's sites, and offer advice for protecting themselves in the future.
What's Next Showcase - This show floor area is the first place to visit to see what's truly "new" in the industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from new companies, learn about products being launched and see prototypes of technology that will be available in the near future.
Technology Theatre - On Thursday, April 25th, this special exhibit hall area will showcase emerging 3D graphics technology that can provide driven B-to-B solutions, from detailed product configuration to visual supply chain automation and more. 3D images provide an unmatched level of detail that can energize a site, allowing remote sales force training, enable collaboration, and significantly enhance customer service programs.
On Friday, April 26th, the Theatre will play host to Internet World's Buyer's Guide Workshops, which are free to all attendees. These presentations will focus on "What's New at The Show," where participants will get the lowdown on the most interesting, innovative and groundbreaking products making their debut in this information-packed overview. The "Security Review" will provide an unbiased discussion from top analysts, offering a comprehensive overview of the security universe, as experts examine the key products in the online security marketplace.
CRM, sponsored by PeopleSoft - Customer Relationship Management is high on the priority list of most organizations, and this exhibit hall showcase will feature the latest in Sales Force Automation hardware, as well as solutions for Web-enabled selling, data mining, customer interaction, personalization, automated marketing and more.
Beyond the exhibit hall, the Internet World Spring 2002 conference program offers 40 days worth of solutions-oriented sessions with a strong focus on ROI, addressing such areas as Web Services, CRM, Security, Content and Knowledge Management, Wireless, Web Marketing and Online Advertising.
For attendees interested in networking with like-minded professionals, Internet World is holding "Peer-To-Peer Lunch Forums", which will enable them to meet with peers who share similar challenges. Led by Internet World's top speakers, these luncheon roundtables will allow participants to share their knowledge as they discuss practical solutions to common challenges.
Another highlight for attendees and exhibitors alike is Internet World magazine's Best of Show Awards, which are presented for innovation in Internet technology. Winners are selected by the editors of Internet World magazine after reviewing products and services on the show floor during the first day of the exhibition. Awards are presented on Thursday, April 25th, just prior to the morning's first keynote address.
