BIO-key International, Inc. Announces Approval of Amendments to Articles of Incorporation

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 2002
BIO-key International, Inc. (OTCBB:SACM), formerly SAC Technologies, Inc., today announced that it held its Special Meeting of Shareholders on Wednesday, February 27 as scheduled. At the meeting, the Company's shareholders approved amendments to the Company's Articles of Incorporation to increase the number of shares of common stock the Company is authorized to issue to 60,000,000 and to change the Company's name from "SAC Technologies, Inc." to "BIO-key International, Inc." As described in the Company's proxy materials filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the amendments were intended to comply with existing contractual obligations, provide the Company with the capability of financing future operations and to better identify the Company within its market.
After the meeting, Chief Executive Officer Jeffry Brown stated, "We are very pleased with the outcome of the votes on these important matters and the overwhelming support from our shareholders. We believe these amendments will put the Company in a better position to raise the additional capital necessary to execute our business plan and to create a natural association between the Company, our products and market applications."
