Legato Names Chief Operating Officer; Industry Veteran to Drive Day-to-Day Operations and Strategic Initiatives

Legato Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:LGTO), a worldwide leader in enterprise storage management software, today announced the appointment of David L. Beamer as the company's new Chief Operating Officer.
In his expanded role, Beamer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company and the execution of its strategic initiatives as well as overseeing the international sales and marketing efforts. Prior to this appointment, Beamer held the position of executive vice president of worldwide sales & marketing and was responsible for the development of Legato's strategic alliances and channel partner programs.

Beamer joined the Legato executive team last year after serving as president and chief operating office of Filetek Corporation of Rockville, Maryland, a privately held software and systems integration company. Prior to Filetek Corporation, Beamer was a corporate officer of Amdahl Corporation and held various senior management positions there and with IBM. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Ohio State University.
