MERANT Management Team Adds Stephen King; Former Terayon Executive Named Senior Vice President and General Manager

MERANT (London Stock Exchange (LSE:MRN); Nasdaq National Market (NASDAQ:MRNT)), a leading provider of software solutions for enterprise change management, today announced the appointment of Stephen King as senior vice president and general manager.
Responsible for product development, branding, positioning and overall corporate marketing direction and strategy, King will report directly to MERANT chief executive officer (CEO), Gerry Perkel.
Adding to the strength of MERANT's growing management team in the Northwest, King's is the latest appointment in a 120-day period, which includes the addition of Perkel; Scott Hildebrandt, the Company's chief financial officer; Robert Blaskowsky, chief information officer; Diane Williams, vice president of human resources and Brian Unruh, vice president of finance.
An honors graduate of the London School of Economics, Mr. King joins MERANT with more than 20 years of digital media and telecommunications experience. Most recently, King led Terayon Communications Systems's broadband solutions group. Instrumental in growing the business by over 20% per quarter, King saw revenues rise to $280 million during his tenure.
Prior to Terayon, King served as the chief operating officer at digital video startup, Imedia Corporation, which was later acquired by Terayon. King has also held key positions with Tektronix and started his career as a software engineer in the U.K.
