e-learning Conference Expo 2002

SANTA ANA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 2002

The ELLI Award, first presented last April at the e-learning Conference & Exposition in Washington, D.C. has expanded its scope for nominations to better reflect the numerous applications now in use and will now be known as the e-learning Success Stories Awards. The awards will be presented at this year's event, the first and only comprehensive exhibition for all aspects of traditional distance learning and the new web-based online learning.

"So many companies and institutions have outstanding e-learning success stories to share that the decision was made to increase the number of potential winners and highlight the many uses of e-learning in today's world," stated Gene Smart, Editor in Chief of e-learning Magazine.

Entrants will be drawn from the user community and vendor/suppliers. Vendors will be able to nominate one entrant per category. All winners will be notified prior to April 1, 2002 and will have a special presentation area where a demonstration of their winning entry will be shown on the exhibit floor, April 9 - 11, 2002. All winners will be presented their awards at a special reception on opening night of the conference.

A distinguished panel drawn from the e-learning Conference Advisory Board will judge the entrants from ten categories. Recognition will be given not only to the companies or institutions using the programs, but the various vendors involved in the solution.

The ten categories highlight four major application segments: Government: Federal, State, Local; Corporate; Higher Education; and an Overall category that crosses all application uses. The full details with criteria and the entry application is posted at www.elearningexpos.com for prospective entrants to download and submit.

Two other important events will take place this year at e-learning Conference & Exposition. Time Magazine's Person of the Year, Rudy Giuliani, will deliver a very special keynote address at the 12th annual e-learning Conference & Expo. A new feature to the event in 2002 will be co-location of The MASIE Center's 5th Annual Business of Learning Conference & Think Tank, an event that attracts the highest-level executives in the e-learning community.

The e-learning Success Stories Awards are presented by e-learning Magazine. For more information contact: Kathleen Kaiser, Awards Supervisor, 805.524.6970 or kathleen@kathleenkaiser.com.
