VANCOUVER, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 2002
New Edge Networks, a national enhanced data and broadband communications service provider, today announced a multi-year agreement to provide inter-LATA frame relay and ATM data services to SBC Ameritech customers.
The new complementary carrier agreement minimizes the complex business and operational issues that arise from having multiple carriers install and maintain a customer's wide area data network. It enables SBC to act as a single point of contact for ordering data communications services such as frame relay and ATM networking services not only within SBC's 13-state region, but also nationally and internationally.
"Our agreement with SBC (NYSE:SBC) represents a substantial new business opportunity for New Edge Networks in the SBC Ameritech region and builds on a long-standing relationship our two companies have," said Dan Moffat, president and CEO of New Edge Networks.
New Edge Networks had been providing complementary frame relay and ATM services to SBC customers in Pacific Bell and Southwestern Bell territories since as early as 1996. The new agreement covers the five Midwest states served by SBC Ameritech.
