EDISON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 15, 2002
mFormation(TM) Technologies Inc. and GTSI(R) Corp. (NASDAQ: GTSI) today announced a strategic partnership to provide mFormation ENTERPRISE MANAGER to Federal government agencies through GTSI's NIH ECS II (Electronic Computer Store) and NASA SEWP III (Scientific and Engineering Workstation Procurement) government-wide contracts. This wireless infrastructure management software is designed to help agencies obtain the highest possible ROI on their wireless investments.
mFormation ENTERPRISE MANAGER provides comprehensive security, control and management capabilities for wireless deployments. Through a centralized Web-based console, government agencies can secure and control their wireless devices and data, monitor performance, pinpoint faults anywhere in the wireless network, and manage devices, users and levels of service--all in real time, over the air.
"Wireless deployments in the government sector have doubled in the last year, and we expect further rapid growth," said Scott Friedlander, GTSI's Vice President of Business Team Solutions. "Due to the sensitive nature of government information, security, data privacy and control are also critical to the success of those deployments. mFormation's software can provide the over-the-air security and control our government customers need to deploy wireless devices in a wide range of situations."
"In the government sector, wireless data devices are becoming extensions of the workplace, and the definition of 'workplace' is expanding to include new locations and situations over time," said Ron Pettengill, mFormation's CEO. "With wireless email, messaging and other applications gaining widespread acceptance, wireless data devices are enabling pervasive communications within, across and among government agencies. mFormation's solution will provide agencies with complete control over their wireless deployments, ensuring security, improving performance and enabling them to deliver better service to users in the field."
