Emulex Corp. (Nasdaq:EMLX), the world's leading supplier of storage networking host bus adapters (HBAs), today announced that LSI Logic Storage Systems has certified the Emulex LightPulse LP9002L 2Gb/s Fibre Channel HBA for use with its MetaStor(R) E4600 2Gb/s storage systems.

LSI Logic's MetaStor E4600, capable of scaling to capacities of 39TB, combined with Emulex's high performance Fibre Channel HBAs, provides customers with a reliable and robust 2Gb/s storage solution.

The Emulex 2Gb/s LP9002L low profile HBA offers a hardware-independent driver architecture, which provides driver compatibility across all product generations enabling customers to seamlessly upgrade products and migrate to 2Gb/s storage area networks.

The Emulex LP9002L HBA operates at up to 2Gb/s Fibre Channel data rates, and offers auto speed negotiation, a function that enables the HBA to automatically sense the network's maximum speed, while maintaining full backwards compatibility with 1Gb/s Fibre Channel installations.

Emulex also offers driver compatibility across its entire family of LightPulse HBAs, including both the 2Gb/s LP9002L and the market-leading 1Gb/s LP8000 dramatically simplifying SAN management complexities.
