NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 29, 2002

DCN To Provide Live Concert Webcasts to Leading Online Service

Digital Club Network (DCN), one of the world's largest Webcasters of live music performances, and AOL Music, the largest music destination on the Internet, today announced the launch of a new concert series that will be offered to AOL High-Speed Broadband members.

Through the deal, AOL Music will feature dozens of live concerts, Webcast by DCN from the world's top venues and encoded specifically for broadband, also known as a high-speed Internet connection. The performances will include a range of artists, from major label stars to emerging unsigned talent.

AOL High-Speed Broadband (AOL Keyword: High Speed) combines the advantages of a broadband connection -- including instant-on capability and the ability to make the most of online audio and video -- with the convenience and ease-of-use that have made AOL the world's most popular online service. With the recent launch of AOL 7.0, high-speed content is now seamlessly integrated into the service, automatically presenting relevant broadband content as members explore the service, so that they can access audio and video content with one click.

"Millions of music fans are enjoying an AOL Music experience today and we're continuing to expand our range of offerings with more exciting ways to discover, listen to and buy music," said AOL Music chief, Kevin Conroy. "Broadband is a rich media environment and represents a major growth area for us. It enables unique entertainment experiences such as this live concert series with DCN."

The DCN and AOL Music teams are working together to select a range of concerts from among DCN's archive of over 3,500 performances. Artists being featured will include: top emerging college-rock band Dispatch; Wanda Jackson, the "first lady of Rockabilly;" Wellwater Conspiracy, featuring former members of Soundgarden and Monster Magnet; acid jazz/groove pioneers, Groove Collective; and indie-rock darlings, Spoon.

"This relationship with AOL Music presents an amazing opportunity for up and coming artists," said DCN's co-founder and Chief Strategic Officer, Ted Werth. "Now, from a single performance at a DCN venue, an artist can reach not only the audience present at their event, but also millions of music fans online."
