BOSTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 30, 2002
The School of Management at Boston University continues to see an unprecedented increase in the number of students applying to the School's MBA programs, reporting a 153 percent increase in domestic applications.
"It's very exciting that students across America are increasingly attracted to our faculty and the quality of our offerings. The numbers are overwhelming," said Louis E. Lataif, Dean of Boston University's School of Management. "Students seem to recognize that our MS-MBA innovation is designed as `the next generation MBA'-- for those who genuinely aspire to leadership positions in business."
Many business schools around the country have reported increases in applications, but none have reported domestic applications increasing more than 150%. Among the factors Boston University School of Management attributes to the significant increase in applications are:
-- Increasing Acclaim - Recently, the School's Executive MBA program was ranked best in New England and in the Top 30 internationally by both BusinessWeek and The Financial Times. The September 2001 issue of MIS Quarterly ranked the information systems faculty and program at the School among the ten best in the country.
-- MS-MBA - In the same 21 months normally required for a full-time MBA, MS-MBA ("MS dot MBA") students at Boston University graduate with a rigorous MBA (with their choice of business concentration and a summer internship opportunity) plus a Master of Science degree in information systems. This program is aimed at those students who aspire to be better prepared, more attractive MBAs in a world in which technology has affected every aspect of "how" businesses function.
-- CareerLab - The only MBA offering of its kind, it is a semester-long career course required of all first year MBA students. CareerLab utilizes an original curriculum that addresses all aspects of the career search process, taught by coaching professionals of the Feld Career Center. CareerLab's goal: to help students become self-aware and market-ready.
About Boston University School of Management
