Korn/Ferry International's Homeland Security Practice Will Work Directly With DOT/TSA to "Fast Track" Placement of 81 Security Chiefs
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) announced today it has contracted Korn/Ferry International (NYSE: KFY) to assist in the identification and placement of Airport Federal Security Directors for the top 81 airports in the nation. As part of DOT's recently formed Transportation Security Administration (TSA), federal security directors will lead security operations at each airport, including passenger, baggage and cargo screening, as well as protection of aircraft and secured airport areas.
"It's an honor for Korn/Ferry to partner with the Department of Transportation to ensure that our nation's airports and transportation system are safe and efficient," said Paul C. The initial phase of Federal Security Director recruitment will fill positions at the nation's 81 top airports. Recruitment for positions at the balance of the nation's 429 airports will be completed later this year.
TSA will be a flat, distributed organization, with a relatively small Washington headquarters, with most of the more than 30,000 member agency based at airports throughout the nation. At each airport, the Federal Security Director will lead security operations, responsible for hiring and training federal security employees, directing all federal law enforcement activity and all management functions, as well as coordination with local authorities.
The Department of Transportation and Korn/Ferry International have established a Web site for candidate information and applications at www.dot-tsa.com. The Web site will begin accepting applications on January 8.
