HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 8, 2002
Webvertising Inc.(TM), was recently featured at Macromedia's DevCon 2001 (Orlando, Fla.) and FlashForward 2001 (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) developer conferences for their revolutionary patent pending Web application, OneScreen(TM), created to change the way online hotel reservations are made.
Consistent with their track record for delivering successful and innovative Web solutions, Webvertising's OneScreen was the answer to a much needed, new approach to online reservations. Utilizing Macromedia's Flash and Cold Fusion technologies, OneScreen condenses the familiar multi-step online hotel reservations process to a single screen and makes it easier and faster to book a room online. At DevCon 2001, OneScreen was part of Macromedia's Customer Application Showcase, which highlighted some of the best utilizations of Macromedia technologies. Furthermore, Macromedia President, Kevin Lynch, acknowledged OneScreen during his keynote address. Macromedia placed OneScreen among its application showcases on their site in recognition of Webvertising's work, (www.macromedia.com). The Broadmoor (http://reservations.broadmoor.com), a luxury resort hotel located in Colorado Springs, Colo., was the first to implement OneScreen's elegant and intuitive user interface.
"From the beginning, our focus has been the creative use of technology to build useful applications for the Web," says Jim Whitney, chief technology officer and founder of Webvertising. He continues, "We ask how we can use technology to do something new, or to make a particular process -- like hotel reservations -- easier. It requires not only strength in technology, but creativity and problem solving." OneScreen is the newest addition to Webvertising's list of cutting edge Web development work. They have also gained industry notoriety from projects such as an interactive CD series for Uncle Ben's Mini-Bowls, the use of Apple's QuickTime VR technology to accurately depict the experience of the B-17 bomber and in working with NASA, the State of South Carolina, BlueGreen Corporation, Moody Gardens, PennzEnergy and National Bronze & Metals.
