ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 8, 2002
SYNAVANT Inc., (Nasdaq:SNVT), the global pioneer of Pharmaceutical Relationship Management (PRM) solutions for the biopharmaceutical and healthcare industries, announced today that it has been awarded an important contract from Productos Roche S.A. to extend its PRM solution, Premiere(SM), across Latin America using its new regional architecture approach.
Roche, ranked the number one pharmaceutical company in Latin America, will use this regional approach initially to link its sales, marketing and clinical activities in Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador, with the opportunity to extend it to other countries in the region.
SYNAVANT's regional, or hub, architecture is the first of its kind in the PRM sector in Latin America. The hub concept enables multiple countries in a region to deploy SYNAVANT's technology solutions, supported by servers housed in a single location. This facilitates regional business alignment for companies and, due to economies of scale and reduced hardware requirements it allows small countries to invest in more robust and reliable pharmaceutical PRM solutions.
"SYNAVANT's PRM solution coupled with its regional architecture is a powerful enabler for our competitive strategy in Latin America," stated Ernest Egli, President Roche Brazil and Latin America. "It provides us with a centralized, reliable, and flexible application that supports our highly tailored customer strategy. SYNAVANT's commitment to delivering such a pioneering solution for Roche has been outstanding. I am confident that with SYNAVANT's pharmaceutical-focused solution we will continue to revolutionize the concept of PRM and increase our leadership position in Latin America," Egli concluded.
SYNAVANT's PRM solution is implemented in local language and customized to individual country needs.
"Competing and winning in the pharmaceutical marketplace demands successful strategies based on deep understanding of the market and its influencers. By selecting SYNAVANT as its partner and by using our solutions as drivers for its business development strategy, Roche is able to apply its intellectual capital consistently and quickly across its Latin American companies to ensure success. We are committed to helping Roche maintain its enviable market position and look forward to this next stage of our relationship with them," commented Jose Cusnir, SYNAVANT's General Manager, Latin America.
