LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 8, 2002
Building on its past success in DVD technology, Samsung Electronics today announces the introduction of its latest, most innovative series, the DVD-2000 series.
Billed as the "everything in one" system, the DVD-2000 is dual-vision combining both a DVD player and VCR in one unit that is also able to read Audio CD, CD-R, MP3 (kept in CD) Video CD and Super VHS. A technological advance, the DVD offers a DTS decoder and digital Dolby, while the VCR has four heads and hi-fi sound.
"What essentially Samsung has done was advance a technology in reaction to market demand," said Janghwan Oh, Vice President, Digital Video Division. "Once again, Samsung Electronics illustrates its understanding of a marketplace by developing and delivering a product that is not only more capable but more convenient."
The DVD combo does not represent the first time that Samsung Electronics has reacted to an emerging market demand. Last year, the company was the first to introduce the DVD and VHS combination package. "We simply built off that success," said Oh.
Designed according to the needs of the consumer, the DVD-2000 offers user-friendly features such as the ability to watch a DVD while recording a television program and a simple remote control that automatically detects media and switches to meet the users needs.
