Aspen(TM) LMS and Auditing Module Will Enable
District of Columbia to Track Federally Regulated
Training for 1,000-Person Administrative Staff
Click2learn (Nasdaq:CLKS) today announced that The Emergency Management Agency (EMA) of the government of the District of Columbia has selected Click2learn's Aspen Learning Management Server (LMS) and Auditing module to track regulated training on the administration of emergency preparedness funds allocated by the Federal government.
Awarded $9.9 million in emergency preparedness funds for training after the terrorist attacks of September 11, the EMA will initially implement Aspen to track and report on the usage of those funds to the Federal government. Aspen will primarily be used to provide skills & competency tracking, to report on assessments, and to automate the performance review process. By using the skills database, the EMA can also take advantage of Aspen's "Qualified Employee Finder" to locate the right personnel for specific jobs and tasks. Lastly, Aspen's Auditing module will enable the District government to automate compliance tracking as required.
"Government agencies like the EMA are leveraging today's technology to help them more easily comply with legislated regulations. Our LMS and Auditing module are ideal tools for these organizations to ensure that their staffs are quickly and consistently meeting current requirements, and to make reporting that compliance easier," said Kevin Oakes, Click2learn's Chairman and CEO. "The EMA chose Aspen because it will easily integrate into the agency's existing infrastructure and allow them to seamlessly import legacy data. Aspen's modular and open architecture will save both time and effort, and ultimately result in a more efficient and productive workforce."
In addition to the EMA, Click2learn also works with other District of Columbia government agencies, including the Office of Personnel's Center for Workforce Development (CWD) and the Office of Tax and Revenue.
Described by industry analysts as the new model for enterprise learning technology, Click2learn's Aspen platform is designed to facilitate the capture, management and dissemination of corporate knowledge to improve productivity and business performance.
