(NYSE:EMC), has qualified the Emulex LightPulse LP9002C 2Gb/s CompactPCI Fibre Channel HBA for use with its CLARiiON Enterprise Storage systems running Solaris and EMC Connectrix Fibre Channel directors and switches.

The Emulex LP9002C cPCI host bus adapter has also been previously qualified as E-Lab Tested with EMC Symmetrix information storage systems.

Emulex HBAs offer a firmware-based architecture, which helps to lower the customer's total cost of ownership and reduce management complexity. The LP9002C provides support for 2Gb/s Fibre Channel data rates and features an automatic speed negotiation capability which ensures complete compatibility with existing 1Gb/s Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs), and allows seamless upgrades to higher speed 2Gb/s SANs.
