Atempo, Inc., the designer of Time Navigator(TM), the leading software platform for high-performance backup and restore services, today announced the availability of Time Navigator for Oracle(R) on NetApp, a serverless backup and restore solution which provides online backup and restore of Oracle databases running on Network Appliance(TM) filers. The combined solution simplifies the backup and restore process in Oracle database environments and dramatically reduces the time the database is affected by backup operations.

The solution allows online backup with no impact on the database server, an essential requirement for today's enterprise environments. By using Atempo's Time Navigation(TM) feature and NetApp Snapshot(TM) technology, backup administrators can restore data very quickly inevitably reducing the potential downtime. The unique feature allows rapid detection and restoration of the corrupted or damaged parts of the Oracle database such as tablespaces, data files, log files, or control files, without having to restore the entire database.
