For Fourth Consecutive Year Hyatt Named One Of Fortune Magazine's
50 Best Companies For Minorities
Hyatt Hotels Corporation continues to display leadership in diversity amongst companies nationwide. The exceptional standards set by Hyatt have led Fortune Magazine to name Hyatt as one of "America's 50 Best Companies for Minorities" for the fourth consecutive year. In addition, the NAACP and DiversityInc.com have recently recognized Hyatt's efforts in diversity.
Hyatt ranks number 19 on the Fortune list, which is published in the July 8, 2002 issue. The magazine recognizes Hyatt as having the 3rd highest percentage of minorities among officials and managers, as well as the 3rd highest percentage of minorities among all employees. The rankings are the centerpiece of story package entitled "50 Best Companies for Minorities."
The NAACP also acknowledged Hyatt's diversity initiatives and programs by grading Hyatt a B- on the annual NAACP Hotel Industry Report Card. The grading is determined by surveys and reports on the economic development record of the hotel industry in relation to the African American Community. Also, DiverstiyInc.com ranked Hyatt #21 in their listing of "Top 50 Companies for Diversity."
"Diversity is one of our company's Core Values. As such, it is a very important component of building our company's foundation. Many resources have been devoted to our Diversity initiatives and programs," said Scott Miller, president of Hyatt Hotels Corporation. "We take great pride in our recognition by esteemed organizations such as Fortune Magazine and the NAACP."
