TripPak EXPRESS Fires Up Canadian Drop Box Network
Business Wire, July 1, 2002
Business Editors
The TripPak EXPRESS drop box network is now available in Canada in an initial 15 truck stops in key locations from British Columbia to New Brunswick -- with a strong presence in Ontario. Coinciding with Canada Day, July 1st, the appearance of the familiar yellow TripPak EXPRESS drop box north of the border further extends the low-cost express pick up and delivery service found in 1,500 US truck stops, fleet terminals, and distribution centers. TripPak EXPRESS serves over 700 North American fleets.
David Chelette, Vice President and Treasurer of J.B. Hunt Transport, remarked: "TripPak's expansion into Canada reflects their ongoing commitment to supporting our needs. Now, whether we deliver a load in a US city or a Canadian city, we can count on receiving our trip documents without delay. TripPak continues to add more value to our relationship every chance they get."
"These first laser-targeted stops are just the beginning," announced Mark A. Cleveland, Executive Vice President of TMI, the parent company for TripPak EXPRESS and TripPak ONLINE. "We plan to double our presence along major Canadian routes in the next year. Canada and the US are by far each other's largest trading partners and most of that trade has a truck under it. Very frequently, that truck belongs to one of our customers," Cleveland added.
"Husky Energy prides itself on serving the needs of our US and Canadian customers and that goes beyond providing quality fuel," said Brett Redpath, Commercial Sales Manager, Refined Products Sales, for Husky. "We jumped at this chance to place TripPak EXPRESS boxes in Mississauga, London, Windsor, and Regina - we plan to do more in the next few months."
To mark the launch of international service, TripPak drop boxes across North America will now feature both the U.S. and Canadian flags. They will also direct drivers to the new box locator tools at www.trippak.com and promote the "One Trip, One Envelope, Every Time" educational theme, helping improve cash flow for drivers and fleets alike.
"Drop box presence is a key link in TripPak's value chain of world-class express mail and imaging services that speeds driver paper work to the fleet back office for processing," said Bruce Butler, TMI's project manager for the Canadian Initiative. "Our largest customers, urging this expansion, provided us lists of their Canadian fueling stops, giving us a road map for initial growth. We continue to answer inquiries from customer-oriented stops and are in discussions with all the major chains."
"Truck stops and their customers should always have a win-win relationship, and TripPak EXPRESS clearly makes sense for everybody," says Bob Lodge, owner of the 730 and 230 Truck Stops in Ontario. A sentiment echoed by Glen Wozny, manager of the Calgary Roadking: "We instantly recognized the value of TripPak to our fuel customers for timely driver payment and speedy invoicing, and welcomed the opportunity to host a drop box." Lodge reported: "We put our boxes on view a few days early and drivers immediately came over to ask when they could start using them."
TMI is a premier service provider to the trucking industry, offering the only fully integrated, outsourced infrastructure provider (OIP) service for time sensitive transportation document management services in the world. The thirteen-year old company is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with offices in Brentwood, Tennessee and Wilmington, Ohio. Visit www.trippak.com for more information.
