IDT Ships the Industry's Fastest and Widest IP Co-Processor in a 128Kx72 Configuration; 256Kx72 Device Available in September 2002

IDT (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.); (Nasdaq:IDTI), a leading communications IC company, today announced the availability of its 128Kx72 full-ternary Internet Protocol (IP) co-processor, capable of the industry's fastest and widest search performance currently available, with a suite of advanced management features that improve system performance and reduce power consumption. The new 128Kx72 IP co-processor represents the third member of IDT's full-featured, pin- and software-compatible family, joining the 32Kx72 and 64Kx72 devices introduced last year. IDT also announced that it will complete the family in September 2002, with the addition of a 256Kx72 IP co-processor. IDT offers the industry's only family of IP co-processors with a seamless upgrade path from a 32Kx72 to a 256Kx72 device.
Based on the integration of content addressable memory (CAM) and high-performance logic, IDT's IP co-processors support network processor units (NPUs) and application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) to accelerate deep packet classification and forwarding in core, metro and access routers. IDT is the leading vendor of switching and routing semiconductors (RHK, March 2002) and offers the industry's broadest portfolio of IP co-processors, with its family for ASIC-based packet processors, and glue-less IP co-processors for industry-leading network processors from Intel, AMCC and others.
IDT Offers Improved Efficiencies and Lower Power Consumption
The new 128Kx72 IP co-processor performs up to 100 million searches per second (MSPS) and utilizes an innovative reissue feature that eliminates extraneous clock cycles during multiple database searches to allow up to 576-bit wide sustained searches at maximum device speed. IDT's IP co-processors offer innovative system-oriented power and advanced management techniques that reduce CPU cycles and assist in uniform multi-path routing for significant performance and maintenance improvements. Designers utilizing the dynamically controlled power features can achieve up to a 60 percent reduction of power consumption in actual application environments. In tandem with these devices, IDT helps accelerate equipment manufacturers' time-to-market by providing HDL code to support FPGA- and ASIC-based programs, as well as software tools to support NPU-based designs.

IDT's 128Kx72 full-ternary IP co-processor is currently sampling with production quantities available in September 2002. The 256Kx72 full-ternary device will sample in September 2002. Pricing for IDT's 128Kx72 IP co-processor starts at $225 in 10,000-unit quantities.
