Business Wire, July 15, 2002
Business/Technology Editors
Centra (NASDAQ: CTRA), the leading provider of software infrastructure for eLearning and collaboration, today announced that London Business School, internationally recognized as a leader in executive education, has selected the CentraOne(TM) platform to power its Web-based Executive Education programmes. After an extensive evaluation of eLearning vendors, London Business School will use Centra's ASP offering to enhance traditional physical classroom teaching with live, interactive online sessions delivered directly to participants' home or office PCs.
London Business School is one of the world's leading providers of executive education and has established a global reputation for inspiring, developing, and transforming future business leaders. Through the development of general management open programmes, short courses, master classes and customised programmes, London Business School meets the needs of senior business people and their organisations around the globe. Located in the heart of London, one of the world's major financial centers, London Business School combines world class faculty, cutting edge research and business experience to deliver impactful education.
According to Ian Hardie, Associate Dean of Executive Education of London Business School, "We were looking for an innovative way to expand the global reach and impact of our executive education programmes. This means that they must extend beyond the walls of the physical classroom." Currently, London Business School Executive Education works with over 60 leading international companies, 75% of which are headquartered outside of the UK. Using Centra, participants from corporations worldwide can participate in Executive Education courses online, in real time, without the typical time and expense considerations associated with physical classroom delivery.
"We are pleased that after an exhaustive evaluation of live eLearning offerings, Centra came out on top," said Lawrence Whittle, Vice President of Sales Operations for Centra in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. "We will work hand-in-hand with London Business School to ensure the success of these innovative executive programmes."
