Object Desktop 2002 Transforms Windows; Desktop Enhancement Allows for Unprecedented Control Over the Windows Environment

Object Desktop is a desktop enhancement suite designed to add hundreds of new features to Microsoft Windows.

Upon installation, it allows individuals and IT managers to customize virtually every aspect of the Windows operating system both visually and functionally.

Object Desktop 2002 is made up of six primary components that are also available as stand-alone programs.

WindowBlinds is a program that changes the look and feel of the Windows GUI. It applies "skins" that change the title bars, push buttons, scrollbars, radio buttons, and other elements of the Windows interface. It can also extend the Windows interface to support new controls such as roll-up buttons, website buttons, always on top buttons and more.

DesktopX is a program that gives the Windows shell (Explorer) truly object-oriented features. Objects can be created and combined together to let individuals and companies literally build their own desktops from scratch. A DesktopX extended desktop can literally look like anything the user wants.

ObjectBar is a program that can replace or extend the Windows Start bar and right-click menu. It takes features from other operating systems and adds a host of its own to give users the ability to create a completely customized dock, bar, wharf, finder, etc.

IconPackager is a program that lets users change all of their icons at once on their system by applying "packages" of icons.

SkinStudio is a program that lets people build their own visual styles for use with WindowBlinds.

WinStyles is the Object Desktop theme manager. It lets the above programs work together in harmony by seamlessly combining their functionality under one interface.

Owners of Object Desktop also receive a one year subscription to Stardock's ObjectDesktop.NET where users can download over a dozen other Object Desktop components on demand (such as ObjectZIP, DriveScan, ControlCenter, TabLaunchPad, and much more) as well as receive updates to existing components.

Because of the visual nature of Object Desktop, screenshots are the best way to convey the power and flexibility it gives to Windows:
