BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 18, 2002
Lyrix announces its newest Enterprise Communication Server will
include the Dell PowerEdge(TM) 2500 Series server line, Linux,
and Nuance 8.0.
Lyrix, Inc., a leading unified communication solution provider to the Fortune 1000, has announced today that all future Lyrix solutions will be deployed on Lyrix's new Linux-based Enterprise Communication Server (ECS). The shift from SCO UNIX OpenServer to Linux is critical to the continued success of Lyrix's software solutions. By moving from SCO UNIX to Linux, Lyrix is able to integrate the latest versions of speech recognition and voice authentication software from Nuance Communications and the newest TDM and IP telephony hardware from Intel Corporation. The ability to combine industry-leading technology from other vendors with the Lyrix unified communication software to deliver innovative turnkey solutions for the enterprise is a critical element to Lyrix's continued success.

"By deploying an open source, cost-effective operating platform in conjunction with an open architectural model, Lyrix realizes reduced development costs, time-to-market improvements, and ultimately, more reliable and stable solutions for our customers," stated Jeff Gardella, Vice President of Development for Lyrix, Inc.
"Lyrix's move to Linux along with their choice to integrate the Intel(R) Dialogic(R) DMV-A Multifunction Series telephony board into the ECS is following an industry shift to modular, open standards-based architecture," said Timothy Moynihan, director of product marketing for Intel's Network Building Block Division. This modular approach enables affordable next-generation communication solutions without sacrificing the high performance and reliability that enterprises require."
Lyrix plans to begin installing its unified communication solutions on the new Linux-based ECS later this month.
