HOLMDEL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 18, 2002

Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company, a company of Prudential Financial (NYSE:PRU), announced today that policyholders and agents can now go on-line to see their policy information, review pages of helpful insurance information and handle many transactions that previously could be completed only by phone or mail.

"The site is fast and efficient and provides a positive online experience for those who use it," said Roger Desjadon, president and CEO, Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company. "This website feature enables us to be more responsive to our clients and agents by giving them access to policy, billing and claim information-- at their fingertips-- 24 hours a day, seven days a week."

Sapient (NASDAQ: SAPE), a leading business and technology consultancy, assisted Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company in developing and implementing the online self-service site. To ensure the technology solution was intuitive and easy to use, Sapient conducted in-depth interviews with policyholders and agents to assess their online needs and expectations. Using the findings from their research, Sapient then worked with Prudential to design an easy-to-use and functional front-end application built on Prudential's legacy systems.

To use the online capability, policyholders will go to the Products & Services tab at www.prudential.com, and proceed to the Insurance tab. Once they enroll in Account Access, clients will find it easy to change their address, or request duplicate documents for their auto, home and personal catastrophe policies in just a few minutes.

In addition, the following transactions can be executed online:

- Make a payment

- Obtain a form to enroll in Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payment option

- Add, change, or remove a vehicle

- Add a driver

- Add, change, or remove a coverage or deductible

- Add, change, or remove a lien holder or an additional insured

- Check their claims information

"We're very pleased with the initial levels of activity on the Self-service site," Desjadon continued. "The most popular transactions so far have been making payments, and adding or changing the cars insured on a policy. In the short time the site has been live we've had great feedback from our customers and agents. And, we're getting very high marks for transaction time. Self-service is a clear winner-- giving our clients and agents greater access and better service, while allowing us to manage the cost of doing business."

The site also contains helpful insurance information that is available to anyone who signs on.

"Self-service capabilities create tremendous opportunities for financial services companies to increase policyholder retention, manage costs and empower agents," said Joe Marchese, vice president of Sapient. "By building technology solutions and business strategies around the user experience, Sapient has helped Prudential create this useful and compelling technology solution to deliver maximum return on investment."
