LOS ANGELES--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--July 19, 2002

The masters of metal, the Scorpions, bring together concert performances and music videos from their Mercury years for the first time in the DVD format. "A Savage, Crazy World" (Mercury/UME), released August 20, 2002, boasting digitally remastered audio and video, collects 11 classic music videos, 12 charged-up live performances, four bonus music videos and even two hidden selections from the band that rocked America like a hurricane during a spring-summer tour earlier this year and reminded fans of the hard rock legacy that has sold more than 22 million albums worldwide. (Another reminder was "Bad For Good: The Very Best Of Scorpions" (Hip-O Records), released during spring 2002.)

"A Savage, Crazy World" contains a dozen live performances from the Scorpions' Berlin homecoming for their 1991 Crazy World Tour. Captured at the height of their powers, as the Teutonic rockers enjoyed their status as international superstars, the Scorpions rock out on such hits as "Rock You Like A Hurricane" (Top 30 pop/#5 AOR), "Big City Nights" (Top 20 AOR), "Rhythm Of Love" (Top 10 AOR), their cover of The Who's "I Can't Explain" (#5 AOR) and "Hit Between The Eyes" (Top 30 AOR).

In addition, the DVD presents a collection of Scorpions music videos, two of which are uncensored versions of "Rhythm Of Love" and "Passion Rules The Game." Among the other clips are those for "Still Loving You" (Top 40 AOR), "Tease Me Please Me" (Top 10 AOR), "Send Me An Angel" (Top 10 AOR), "Don't Believe Her" (Top 20 AOR) and the gold "Wind Of Change" (#4 pop/#2 AOR), that became an anthem about the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Also seen are three Russian versions of their videos -- Scorpions were the first Western band to play on Russian soil during their 1988 Savage Amusement Tour -- "Believe In Love" (Top 20 AOR), "Walking On The Edge" and "Rock You Like A Hurricane." The original music video for the latter rock masterpiece is included as well. The bonus music videos are for "Alien Nation" (Top 10 AOR), "Holiday," "No One Like You" (#1 AOR) and "I'm Leaving You" (hidden bonuses are "Big City Nights" and a live rendition of "No One Like You").

Full-motion menu screens offer randomly chosen audio beds for a new experience each time the DVD is accessed. A "Play All" function also allows for playing just the concert material, just the music videos or every selection.

Today, the Scorpions remain one of hard rock's most popular bands around the world -- and it's still "A Savage, Crazy World."
