IDS Scheer, Inc. Positioned in Leader Quadrant of Business Process Analysis/Modeling Magic Quadrant
Business Wire, July 2, 2002
Business Editors
IDS Scheer, Inc., the leading provider of business process excellence services and tools, today announced that it has been positioned in the Leader Quadrant of the Gartner's Business Process Analysis/Modeling Magic Quadrant in the recent research note, "The BPA Market Catches Another Major Updraft," published in June 2002.
This marks the second year in a row that Gartner has positioned IDS Scheer in the Leader quadrant in the Magic Quadrant.
Gartner Inc.'s Magic Quadrant positions vendors in a particular market segment based on their vision and ability to execute that vision. According to Gartner, Leaders are vendors who are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction, and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.
"We are thrilled to once again be recognized in the Leader Quadrant of Gartner's Business Process Analysis/Modeling Magic Quadrant," commented Dr. Mathias Kirchmer, President and CEO of IDS Scheer, Inc. "IDS Scheer is committed to maintaining a leadership position in the area of software for business process management."
In the research note, Gartner states that the BPM market is gliding along quite strongly, and expects further increases in revenue growth for thriving vendors. In addition to the Magic Quadrant, Gartner placed vendors into "sweet spots" to highlight the benefits they offer in various specialty niches. The presence of these multiple niches bodes well for the health of the BPM sector, according to Gartner. In the research note, IDS Scheer was included in the emerging area of support for business activity monitoring (BAM), in which vendors use feedback from production systems to match the logical model to actual implementation results. According to the Gartner research note, an emphasis on real-time measurement will begin to be evident in the BAM efforts now on the drawing board.

In some situations, firms in the Visionary, Challenger, or Niche Player segments may be the right match for an enterprise's requirements.
