and Lack of Ear Fatigue After Long Recording Sessions
SLS International (OTCBB:SITI) announced today that the audio of Neil Young's new surround DVD video is being mixed using SLS International's speakers.
Mr. John Nowland, longtime recording engineer and studio manager at Neil's personal studio, Redwood Digital, where he has been using the SLS system for several months, is using SLS' 5.1 Studio Surround system, based on the award winning S8R Nearfield Monitor, to re-mix the 5.1 DVD version of Neil Young's famous recording "Are You Passionate." Nowland moved his system for the remix to The Site in Marin county, one of the premier studios in Northern California and home to hundreds of major recording artists and producers.
"The imaging, accuracy and comfort level produced great mixes," Nowland said. "I've found the SLS Loudspeakers to be extremely clear and detailed, allowing me to hear nuances lost in other systems of far greater cost! The `ribbon tweeters' are wildly smooth and unfatiguing all day long, and their sharp vertical dispersion helps greatly in eliminating confusing sound reflections," recalled Nowland.
Nowland has also installed a pair of SLS S8Rs in his Analog-to-Digital transfer suite at Redwood Digital where he is archiving all of Neil's recordings. Arranging the speakers in a custom configuration to reduce the side-wall reflections, Nowland said, "It's worked great. You can crank 'em up and they're as smooth and clear as can be even after 8 hours of listening."
Nowland has also installed the complete surround sound system in his home for DVD video and DVD audio, "and they rock!" enthused Mr. Nowland.
John Gott, SLS' President & CEO, said, "Industry leaders are recognizing the quality of our products as we continue to ramp-up production, and roll out more product into the professional marketplace. As the industry's top artists, performers, and recording professionals produce their projects utilizing our state-of-the-art `ribbon drivers,' they are realizing how much better their finished product is. It makes their art sound better, so the consumers will hear what the artist intended for them to hear. As they continue to use our new technology, others will be driven to utilize the SLS products as well."
Concluded Gott, "In the past week alone, the interest and new orders we have received for new studios, churches, auditoriums and night clubs, and from professional sound contractors continues to build and represent a quantum leap in current and future business for SLS."
