Former Congressman and U.S. Ambassador Named to Board of Surety's Holding Company

Bob Krueger, who is a distinguished economist, entrepreneur, educator and public servant, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Surety Capital Corp. (OTCBB:SRYP), the holding company of Surety Bank, N.A.
Over the course of almost two decades, Mr. Krueger has served as a U.S. Congressman and a U.S. Senator. He was appointed by two presidents to serve as U.S. ambassador to three countries; Mexico, Burundi and Botswana and also was Special Representative of the Secretary of State to the Southern African Development Community. In 1990, he won statewide election to the Texas Railroad Commission where he served for a time as chairman of this three-member body that regulates oil, gas, coal and all energy production in the state.
The native of New Braunfels, Texas, graduated cum laude with honors from Southern Methodist University. He earned his MA degree from Duke University and a M. Litt. and Ph.D in English from Oxford University in England. By age 36 he was Duke's Vice-Provost and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
In recent years, Mr. Krueger was a Research Fellow at Oxford University and is presently consulting on international trade and government relations in the private sector. He and his family make their home in New Braunfels.
