CAMPBELL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 2002

New Array SR First Internet Surveillance System To Rapidly

and Securely Scan, Analyze and Record Web Traffic

Array Networks, the pioneer in directing, accelerating, securing and analyzing all internal and external Web traffic, announced the new Array SR (Security Reconnaissance) Secure Web Traffic Analyzer, which fully complies with the most recent electronic surveillance laws passed by the U.S. government. Based on Array's secure Web traffic management architecture, the Array SR enables companies and law enforcement organizations to rapidly and securely scan, analyze and record all incoming and outgoing Web traffic, including SSL-encrypted sessions. The easy-to-manage system addresses the latest homeland security requirements for systems that can selectively capture and analyze suspicious network activity. The Array SR integrates Array Networks' SpeedStack(TM) network processing technology and security-hardened ArrayOS(TM), which enables Array systems to make secure, content-aware traffic management decisions at network speed.

The Array SR is able to scan, analyze and record Internet traffic including HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, POP, IMAP and SMTP transmissions at Gigabit wire speed. Web traffic can be captured using various methods including IP (static or dynamic), RADIUS, protocol, headers and content. The data recorded is digitally signed and encrypted using HSM secure key repository and crypto acceleration. The secured data can be exported via the integrated DVD writer allowing for off-line data analysis.

"Homeland security and the protection of intellectual property must be addressed on a Web traffic management level," said Donald J. Massaro, president and chief executive officer of Array Networks. "We are proud to introduce a secure Web Traffic Analyzer for intelligence applications. Our experience in secure Web traffic management technology allows us to challenge companies that continue to develop conventional Web traffic management appliances such as F5 and CacheFlow, which fall short in meeting today's secure Web traffic management needs."

"Moving forward, the use of the Internet is quite different from what we experienced in the .COM experiments where the main focus was the publishing of content to large, public audiences," said Peter Christy, co-founder of NetsEdge Research. "The Internet radically simplifies the use of information from anywhere in the world and that will absolutely transform how we work and live. But in valuable business and personal applications, it's extremely important to know who is seeing what data, and assuring that the privacy and propriety of information is maintained. Array Networks is rapidly establishing itself as a leading innovator of next generation Web traffic management platforms with advanced technologies. The Array SR offers law enforcement organizations and companies an innovative means of monitoring and assuring online activity. Over time this kind of technology will be broadly deployed and a critical part of Internet infrastructure."

The system offers a full audit trail ensuring that logs are not altered at any time. All captured traffic is audited, logged and identified. Remote administration is made possible by the use of secure protocols. Time synchronization keeps all of the Array SR's in a network in tune for reliable log playback. Plug and play installation allows for non-disruptive network integration and user-friendly administration. An impregnable FIPS 140-2 Level 3 housing and cable management systems ensures top physical security. The Array SR will be available in Q4 2002. Pop and IMAP support will be available in Q1 2003.
