VIEO Inc., the leader in Adaptive Application Infrastructure Management (AAIM), today announced that Roger Heinen was appointed to the VIEO Board of Directors.
Heinen is a managing director at Flagship Ventures and a former senior vice president at Microsoft and Apple Computers. As a member of the VIEO board, Heinen brings a strong operating background that will be helpful in shaping the company's strategy for delivering its next generation systems management offering, AAIM. Set for availability in early Q1 2003, the VIEO AAIM solution is designed to ensure business critical application certainty by enabling organizations to cost-effectively measure, analyze, and affect application-dedicated resources as a single computer.

Roger Heinen is a managing director of Flagship Ventures and a former advisor/partner for NewcoGen. At Flagship Ventures, Heinen participates in both venture creation and venture investment activities in the information technology sector. His distinguished career includes roles as senior vice president of Microsoft's Developer Division. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president of the Software Division at Apple Computer and as a corporate consulting engineer at Digital Equipment. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, completion of the Stanford Executive Program (SEP) at Stanford University, and a Ph.D. with honors from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Heinen currently serves as director of ANSYS, Pepper Computer and Progress Software. In addition to VIEO, Heinen currently serves on two Flagship portfolio company boards: Netuitive and GenStruct.
