Black Box Network Services UK Wins Britain's Coveted Industry Prize for Innovation

Black Box Corporation (Nasdaq:BBOX) today announced that its subsidiary company in the United Kingdom, Black Box Network Services UK, has won the prestigious UK Network Industry Award 2002 in the category of "Most Innovative Use of Technology" for its work on a wireless network at the Jeff Joseph Technology College in England.

The award was announced at the awards ceremony at the Networks Telecoms 2002 Exhibition in Birmingham, England on 25th June 2002. Networks Telecom is the principal conference / exhibition for computer networking in the United Kingdom.

Jeff Joseph Technology College enjoys a UK wide reputation for excellence in the adoption of new technologies for educational advantage and has been working with Black Box Network Services UK on a project to build a wireless computer network. The first stage of the project was to build a wireless network within the boundaries of the college campus. The second phase of the project, due to start soon will lead to the design and build of a much bigger wireless network so that the college can also be a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) for the local community.
