LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 13, 2002
Panasonic Broadcast & Television Systems Company (Secaucus, NJ) has announced significant additions to its ultra-portable and portable LCD projector line-up, including two new wireless units, here at INFOCOMM, the leading industry forum for new presentation and display technologies.
The new Panasonic PT-L700 Series of projectors includes the PT-L730NTU 802.11b-compliant wireless, PT-L720U XGA and PT-L520U SVGA ultra-portable units, all with super-bright, high-contrast data and video quality; and the PT-L780NTU wireless and PT-L750U portable, high-brightness XGA LCD projectors.
Panasonic's second-generation wireless models, the PT-L730NTU and PT-L780NTU, allow for easy set-up and continuous, cable-free presentations from multiple PCs while overcoming the limitation of too few inputs and too short cabling. By simply inserting a wireless LAN card into their PC, users can transmit data using the industry-leading Wi-Fi(TM) (IEEE 802.11b) Wireless standard at a transfer rate of 11 Mbps over a 125-foot distance from PC to the SD Memory Card in the projectors for play-out, providing customers an unprecedented array of wireless-enabled mobile computing solutions.
All the PT-L730NTU's and PT-L780NTU's setup parameters can be controlled remotely and status monitored via an Internet browser menu, and the projectors have an assigned IP address for remote, individual control. The PT-L780NTU also features wired Local Area Network (LAN) capabilities.
Weighing just 8 pounds, the PT-L730NTU offers excellent brightness of 2200 ANSI lumens, a high contrast ratio of 400:1, and a native resolution of 1024 x 768 XGA. The new 8-pound PT-L720U XGA and PT-L520U SVGA are the ideal solutions for an extensive range of presentation environments. The PT-L720U offers 2200 ANSI lumens and the PT-L520U delivers 2000 ANSI lumens of brightness for high-quality video and data images, a high contrast ratio of 400:1, and resolutions of 1024 x 768 XGA (PT-L720U) and 800 x 600 SVGA (PT-L520U). All three projectors also offer two-mode lamp operation - Standard or Save - with a lamp life in the Save mode at 3,000 hours.
High Brightness, Cost-Effective Portable Projectors
Weighing 12 pounds, the PT-L780NTU wireless and PT-L750U portable projectors incorporate three newly-developed .99" TFT Active Matrix Polysilicon LCD panels to deliver stunning images, text and graphics for demanding computer and video applications.
The PT-L780NTU and PT-L750NT are high-brightness models (3000 and 2500 lumens, respectively), displaying vibrant colors and bright, crisp images in true 1024 X 768 XGA/maximum UXGA resolution. The PT-L780NTU also offers a DVI interface for direct digital input of RGB signals, which doubles the number of gray shades that can be reproduced to 2,048.
The projectors are HDTV-ready and can automatically synchronize to display 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i video in the 16:9 wide aspect ratio. In addition, the units support most worldwide video standards, including NTSC, PAL and SECAM.
The PT-L730NTU has a suggested list price of $5,999; the PT-L720U has a suggested list price of $5,499; and the PT-L520U has a suggested list price of $3,999. The three models will be available in June. The PT-L780NTU and PT-L750U will be available in September.
