Marv Albert Joins the Westwood One/CBS Radio Sports Monday Night Football Broadcast Team

Westwood One/CBS Radio Sports announced today that legendary sportscaster Marv Albert will join its NFL Monday Night Football broadcast team, providing play-by-play coverage alongside color analyst Boomer Esiason.

Westwood One/CBS Radio Sports kicks off its Monday Night Football broadcasts on September 9th at 8:45pm ET when the New England Patriots host the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Marv Albert currently serves as the play-by-play announcer for the NBA on TNT, voice of the New York Knicks on radio and hosts the nightly wrap up show, SportsDesk on Madison Square Garden (MSG) Network. Albert has worked for NBC Sports for over 20 years, serving as primary play-by-play voice for the NBA on NBC, along with play-by-play announcing for NFL football, college basketball, boxing, NHL all-star games, baseball studio and pre-game shows. Prior to joining NBC, Albert spent four years as the radio voice of the New York Giants at WNEW-FM, New York. Albert has won six Cable Ace Awards for Outstanding Play-By-Play Announcer, three New York Emmy awards in the Outstanding On-Camera Personality category, and was named New York State Sportscaster of the Year an unprecedented 20 times. In 1997, he was awarded the Curt Gowdy Media Award by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, one of the highest honors given to sports journalists.

Westwood One/CBS Radio Sports kicks off its 16th consecutive season of NFL Monday Night Football coverage on September 9th at 8:45pm ET when the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots host the Pittsburgh Steelers. Westwood One/CBS Radio Sports coverage will continue for 17 consecutive Mondays, culminating on, December 30th at 8:45pm ET with the St. Louis Rams facing the defending San Francisco 49ers.
