Ronald Hamburger Joins Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. (SGH), an ENR 500 consulting engineering firm, today announced that Ronald O. Hamburger, S.E., has joined the company as a Principal. In his new position, Hamburger will become a leading contributor to SGH's building structure design, building investigation, and seismic and blast engineering services. Based out of the San Francisco office, Hamburger will serve SGH's clients around the world.

Hamburger is a 28-year veteran of the structural engineering industry, with previous executive experience at ABS Consulting, EQE Structural Engineers, and Bechtel. Throughout his career, Hamburger has played key senior management roles by setting standards of engineering practice, serving as managing principal for special projects, and becoming an internationally recognized expert in the structural performance assessment and seismic rehabilitation of buildings.

Hamburger joins SGH from the EQE structural engineering division of ABS Consulting, a risk management consulting company, where he was Senior Vice President and Chief Structural Engineer. Hamburger's experience also includes his role as Assistant Chief Civil/Structural Engineer for Bechtel.

SGH designs, investigates, and retrofits buildings and structures of all types.
