SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 17, 2002
Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), a leading provider of removable storage solutions, next week unveils the retail-version of its 1.3GB, Hi-Speed USB 2.0 magneto-optical (MO) drives at TECHXNY in New York City. In addition, FCPA will be demonstrating its internal 2.3GB IDE and SCSI MO drives, which were released earlier this year, at the show.
Fujitsu's current MO product line, which includes 2.3GB IDE and SCSI drives, along with 1.3GB Hi-Speed USB 2.0, Firewire, and SCSI drives, offers reliable storage options for many types of intensive PC applications. Fujitsu MO users can now purchase 2.3GB MO disks for only $20 each. Fujitsu's low-cost media combined with competitively priced drives make MO technology one of the most cost effective removable storage options available. Furthermore, with Fujitsu's new Hi-Speed USB 2.0 MO products, Fujitsu brings the benefits of magneto-optical storage technology - namely, cost-effectiveness, durability, and reliability - to the PC market.
"With the latest MO drives using the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface, Fujitsu brings an affordable removable storage technology to millions of PC users that makes backing-up and archival applications easier, faster, and safer," said Dan Dalton, director of optical storage products at Fujitsu. "Fujitsu MO drives provide a proven, cost-effective alternative to other, less stable forms of removable storage, and bring to bear Fujitsu's years of experience of developing world-class storage technologies for companies worldwide."
MO Product Offering
Fujitsu's current MO product offering includes 2.3GB internal MO drive kits in IDE and SCSI, 1.3GB internal and external drives in USB 2.0, SCSI, Firewire, and IDE interfaces.
