Gamers can go for massive air with one of the Freekstyle(TM) riders as they attempt to pull high difficulty tricks in the most over-the-top riding environments on a video game console. Electronic Arts (Nasdaq:ERTS) announced today that it is shipping Freekstyle for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system. Freekstyle is the first EA SPORTS BIG(TM) title to feature a truly twisted cast of real-life characters, all coming to EA SPORTS(TM) from the freestyle, motocross and supercross racing worlds.

Freekstyle's elite cast of riders, all with their own unique personalities and style, include freestyle sensations Mike Metzger (the Godfather of freestyle motocross), Brian Deegan (leader of the Metal Mulisha), Leeann Tweeden (model/sports commentator), Stefy Bau, Clifford "The Flyn Hawaiian" Adoptante, Mad Mike Jones, Jessica Patterson and Greg "Albee" Albertyn. Each rider also has unique bikes and gear.

Nine different riding environments offer a broad range of aerial opportunities. Six are reserved for racing, each filled with big jumps and tight turns that will allow gamers to test their ability to pull off big stunts. To reach even higher speeds, big stunts are rewarded with "boost," filling the Freekout Meter, allowing the rider to hit top speeds and pull a Super Sick Trick all while fending off five other dirt vultures. Freekstyle also offers three freestyle venues that allow gamers to explore the terrain and find new and challenging obstacles for pulling off big tricks. Gamers can also enjoy head-to-head competition in the multi-player freestyle and racing modes.

The featured music track on Freestyle is "Slip Away" recorded by Warner Bros. Records' artist Dry Cell. The dynamic music soundtrack for Freekstyle was created by the Humble Brothers, a remix team with a diverse list of musical projects.

In addition to the PlayStation 2 console version, Freekstyle will be available on the Nintendo GameCube(TM) in August of 2002.

Freekstyle is rated "E" (Everyone) by the ESRB. Freekstyle is analog controller compatible and supports one or two players. Consumers may purchase the game directly at the EA Store(SM) (http://www.eastore.ea.com), or by calling EA Direct Sales at 877/324-2637, for a suggested retail price of $49.95.
